Prof. Fetein Abay Abra

Prof. Fetein Abay Abra is a professor of Plant Breeding and Seed in the Department of Dry land crop and Horticultural sciences of Dry land agriculture and natural resource, Mekelle University (MU). Prof. Fetien currently serves as Vice President for Research and Community Service (since Sept. 2016). Previously, she served at various academic leadership positions at MU for more than two decades; as the director of the Institute of Environment, Gender, and Development Studies (IEGDS), an associate editor for the Journal of Dry land Agriculture, a coordinator of the Graduate Programme in Dryland Crop Science, a core team member of the Agro-Ecology in Practice a member of the Agricultural College Council, and is heavily involved in curriculum development   for Plant Breeding and Food Science at MU. She won various international awards including the prestigious AU Kwame Nkrumah Scientific Awards Program of the year 2014.
